Now that Brees is 6 TDs behind ole Tom

Will he start forcing things when he gets back to try and catch up?
He basically has lost that record for certain if he retires after this season.
Brady also most assuredly surpasses his total yards mark if Brees retires.
What will he be remembered for then?

all Brees cares about is winning a Super Bowl, and the team needs him to play and be healthy to do that. he’s not going to rush back just for the TDs

That has a ton to do with trying to save his image to keep his broadcast gig.
Brees is a great player, but claiming all he cares about is a championship is pretty darn naive. Money and records have always been his motivators. There is nothing wrong with that. People need to stop trying to push a false narrative though.

He could have taken more money and gone to Minnesota. Could certainly make more than what he’s making with the saints now too on the open market.

He just needs to match Brady the rest of the season, maybe throw one or two more. Brees will have 3 playoff games, including the super bowl to pass Brady.

Most of it to assist African American causes. Yet, his teammates turned on him because he did not say the right things they wanted him to say and he respected the flag and teh national anthem in honor of his grandfathers who had fought for this country.
