As far as local fans are concerned, yeah, maybe he is a little overrated. But when you consider that outside of Deuce what RBs have they had to be the face of organization at that postition. George Rogers, a broke down Earl Campbell, Dalton Hilliard, Ricky Williams. No doubt that all of those backs have had good runs in their careers but none have meant what Deuce has meant to the Saints organization and their fans. So maybe a lot of fans look at Deuce through Black and Gold glasses that shield out all of the time he's spent on the sidelines. I'm o.k. with that.

So you admitted his overratedness but are okay with it only cause of how pathetic are past rb's have been in this organization which theoretically should have nothing to do with Deuce's Ratedness.

Name another player who misses most of 3 seasons and makes $5 to $7 MM per season and doesn't get criticized one iota.

I said Ricky leads Deuce in every major statistical category

hes played longer and has had over 500 more carries than Deuce.

and they have the same amount of 1000 yard seasons. Go figure.

Where do you get this notion that you have to be mentioned with the best of all time to qualify as overrated?

This is valid. He doesn't have to mentioned with the best of all time, but is he even mention as a great RB...a good RB...I would say he was good. He is not overrated as a Saints RB but many of the local fans have, in fact, overrated him. So I guess, I would have to say yes in this context.

Ricky played under the ditka days and had an undiagnosed disorder... he goes on to miami and has an 1800 rushing yard season...

Yes, but as a dyed-in-the-wool black 'n' gold superbowl psycho. But I think the average fan and complete outsiders give Deuce his just dues and nothing more.

The thread title is the most overrated Saint of all time. Ricky Williams great years came as a Dolphin so stop saying he's had a better career than Deuce because he didnt as Saint. And stay consistent what your thread title is argueing AlejandroInHouston.

Because someone was worse then him doesn't mean he was doing his job right. There Is a reason why a playoff caliber team green bay gave up on him. There is a reason why our why our d is so terrible.

Again if he's not getting thrown on then he's doing his job and you have nothing to complain about. It was a contract dispute in Green Bay, he wanted elite CB money and was willing to sit out and Green Bay didnt want to put up with that bull shite (but that never happens in this business ). And He didnt get picked on in Green Bay when he had Al Harris on the other side. Like I said he was never an elite corner but he was definetly a solid corner and u already acknowlegded he did his job and didnt get thrown on.

You're a dick. I do agree with your Drew Brees assessment though. Drew is great a piling it on when we have a lead. Not so much at bringing us back from behind. Aaron Brooks did a better job at that.

To answer your question, it has to be Bobby Hebert hands down. The dude sucked. He held out on us and we should have drafted someone else. We had the most awesome defense in the league for 5 or 6 years and a very good tandem of RB's at all times. He sucked royal balls, and we never got past the first round. Thank you Bobby Hebert for being so shitty. And although Jim Finks was generally a good GM, this was his big frick up. He never improved the QB position.

Hebert has to hold some kinds of record for most red zone INTs or most INTs in the 4th quarter.
