Exactly. That kind of "scouting" mostly died out with Jamarcus Russell. Like when Akili Smith was drafted 2nd basically because he threw a football 90 yards one time. Or Kyle Boller going in the first round because he threw the football 50 yards from his knees in practice.
He might be #1, but right now you need a larger sample size. Until then he's Matt Flynn and I'm pretty sure the Sehawks and Raiders regret giving him a ton of money off one game.

You don't need 4 seasons to see someone has it, if you know what to look at. He's got it on and off the field. Only question mark on Jones is how would he perform if placed behind a crappy nfl oline which you won't know until the fact

He made a claim a few weeks ago that Cardale would have been #1 pick if he came out last year. That statement alone made me quit listening again. He is terrible.

I know preseason tells us nothing a lot of the time...But this preseason has shown me a lot.. Saint's aren't good and if they win more than 7 or 8 this years i'd be shocked.
I've been a Saints fan for a long time and enjoyed the run..Sadly though, I can see the downward trend headed our way..
