I give Strief a break because he was not an experienced broadcaster. Hoss was on WWL TV for years as the weekend guy and later split time with Henderson

A lot of folks that used to listen on the radion now stream the network broadcast on their phones. The numbers are low so the revenue to hire is low. Hoss was probably an inexpensive hire compared to better voices.

There were some former WWL-TV talent that advocated hard for Mike Hoss. Once I heard the Saints game day broadcasts, I was not impressed.
