These always end up way off bet there's 10 or so names listed that will go 7th round or undrafted.

QBs especially tend to fall off when they've been anointed too early. Darnold was a walkon that has played like 11 games at USC and somehow is the next John Elway right now

He was a 4 star across all recruiting sites.

NFL is a QB league, I'd prepare to load up ammo for Darnold over previous guys like Goff.

26. Lamar Jackson

Is this assuming he makes a position change? I think it would be mighty foolish to draft him that high as a QB. I'm thinking Lamar Hackson will be a 3rd or 4th round pick at best and that's solely because he's a good athlete. I personally wouldn't touch him in any round of the draft as he will likely have to learn an entire new position.

After a quick glance I would swap the Texas guys Malik Jefferson and Connor Williams.
And I think he missed QB Luke Falk.

That list makes me think a little better about the trade for Kamara.
This years 3rd > next years late 2nd rounder

was surprised to see him crack the starting lineup as a freshman under Saban.

don't like the team or their fans (most of them) but ahhh.. I don't know maybe he is that fricking good?

better athlete, better arm, and just as accurate. Josh Allen has Aaron Rodgers type arm talent. Darnold doesn't. We done here?

Accuracy? Darnold had a completion percentage of 67.2 compared to Allen's 56. He also threw 6 few INTs. I haven't seen much of Allen's play to judge so that's why I asked in the first place.

Where the hell did you get the idea Darnold was a walk on?

More worthy of a first round pick than Humphrey that's for sure.

This is from PFF:
quote:

On the 37 passes thrown into his coverage when lined up in the slot, Fitzpatrick has allowed 17 receptions for 212 yards, with no touchdowns and three interceptions. That was good for an NFL passer rating of just 30.5. For context, the NFL passer rating of dropping back to pass and just throwing the ball away is 39.6. That means it’s smarter for opposing quarterbacks to throw the ball away than try to go after Fitzpatrick in coverage.
He can any position in the secondary (FS, CB, slot CB, etc.)
He also has had 7 INTs and returned 4 of them for TDs.

Fitzpatrick is good. I really love his game & believe his versatility will be his greatest asset in the NFL.

When you watch Darnold play, you quickly realize that he has unbelievable ball placement hence the high completion percentage. The throw he made against Penn St in the Rose Bowl, that turned out to be the game winner, was an absolute dime. The play is at the 10:28 mark of the highlight. The endzone view gives you the best perspective of just how good this throw was.

Sam Darnold vs Penn St

I really like Darnold but I think Josh Allen has more talent & the better skill set. Allen just isn't as polished as Darnold at this point. When looking at the upside aspect, Josh Allen has the higher ceiling IF he has the opportunity to develop under a coach like Sean Payton.

Josh Allen highlights

quote:

Still, there are times when Allen relies too much on his legs and his arm to bail himself out. Bohl and Vigen spent the spring reminding him that he can't go wrong hitting his check downs. The "Oh, s---" throws can wait until the Cowboys need real magic. And taking fewer chances should raise Allen's completion percentage, which will help make him that top pick.

That's why Allen came back. He knows he can succeed at the next level if he allows himself to prepare properly. "I want to have a career in the NFL," he says. "It's not going anywhere. It's going to be there next year and the year after that. I don't want to be a guy that's in the league for three years and bounces around backup to backup to backup. I want to be a guy that a franchise can say, 'We want this kid. We're going to take him now, and he's going to be our future for the next 15 to 20 years.'"

What is also great about Allen is that the offense at Wyoming is a wide open, pro style type offense. When you look at his highlights, you will see similarities formation wise to what the Saints use.
