Midway though the 3rd quarter

We had the ball 4th down at the GB 37 yd line. This would be a 53 yd FG, which should be in the range of every NFL starting kicker. We decided to take a delay of game penalty instead of kicking the FG. WTF was the reasoning here? I was at the game, so I know it wasn’t wind or something like that.

it was 4th-and-6 so my guess is they were trying to get Green Bay to jump to make it an easier FG or just go for it if it became 4th-and-1?

Saints went 0-1 from 40+ today.
Let's look around the league so far this week:
(40+ means 40-49, 50+ means 50-59)
Titans: 1-1 from 40+
Browns: 1-1 from 40+, 1-1 from 50+
Falcons: 1-2 from 40+
Jets: 1-1 from 50+
Pats: 1-2 from 40+, 1-2 from 50+
Commanders: 1-1 from 50+
Bills: 1-1 from 50+
Colts: 4-4 from 50+
Ravens: 1-1 from 50+, 0-1 from 60+
Panthers: 2-2 from 40+, 0-1 from 50+
Seahawks: 1-1 from 40+
Chiefs: 1-1 from 40+
Cards: 1-1 from 40+, 1-1 from 60+
Cowboys: 1-1 from 40+

Grupe was one of two kickers to miss from 40-49 this week.
So yes, not only did the Saints miss a 46-yarder to take the lead, they were afraid to kick a 56-yarder. (rest of league was 10-12 from 50-59)

We punted and dropped it to the 5. They went 80 and burned over six minutes and we held them to a turnover on downs. The Saints regained possession up 17 points in the 4th quarter. Of all the things, this wasn't the issue of the game.
