No because, as painful as it would be, if this team looks worse than last year I will say, VERY reluctantly, that maybe we were overly harsh on Allen and he was working with less than what it seemed, and Mickey has failed to keep things adequately balanced to maintain the roster.

If the team is instead on an upward trajectory, I don't conversely expect anyone here to admit that maybe Mickey isn't as bad as people claim, because he will never get credit for anything good.

these excuses.
Where are the excuses? What have I said that is an excuse. All I've done is point to facts, and have even said how horrible of a move hiring and keeping Allen was. Even I wanted Mickey fired if Allen wasn't gone after last year, injuries be damned.

Allen was a thing we should have never suffered, but now we are moving on.

“7-10 with Andy Dalton” - who do you think chose the QB room and roster!?!!?

“9-8 with Carr” - like we should be impressed with a 9-8 season in which we missed the playoffs against the easiest schedule in the league?

“Injuries” - like every other team in the league? Who is responsible for shite drafting and minimal cap space to provide adequate depth?

The record and lack of playoff, the depth chart, and the cap space speak for themselves, it’s crazy work to try and argue against the facts. Mickey’s moves in 2025 are an acknowledgment to the failures of post Brees. You’re on an island

You want to argue the nuance of being the 20th best team vs being the worst team. Like there is some silver fricking lining to take from the past seasons. The silver lining is it www so bad it forced a hard reset

Dalton was the backup and Winston got hurt. But yeah we'll act like every team who loses their starter always has a backup that can come in and light it up. This isn't an excuse, this is pointing out that we still got to 7-10 despite our backup starting 14 games.

“9-8 with Carr”
Again not an excuse. It was a winning record and barely missed playoff season with Carmichael still on board. Just like I said how much Loomis really sucked for hiring and keeping Allen, the same goes for keeping Carmichael. It was a huge mistake. With both I am admitting the mistakes, not making excuses for them. I know that may be hard to see with the blind hate you have that I am also acknowledging where Loomis fricked up.

But, unlike the Allen mistake, Loomis actually fixed this one the following year.

“Injuries
2024 wasn't a normal injury year. Go look up how many games our starters missed. Now go compare that to any other team (if there are enough to compare) how had that amount of missing games from their starters and did well. I doubt you'll find any team that even broke .500 with that many games missed by starters, especially the qb.

This is not an excuse, this was the reality of that season, and as much as it sucked to have a season lost to injuries, it finally forced Allen out so for that I am thankful. Had we gone 9-8 or 8-9 again Allen probably comes back for another year and I would have been on here calling for Loomis' head as well (like I started to prior to the 2024 season).

Why should winning under 9 games a year put you in the HOF?

Mickey Loomis got historically lucky with Drew. Otherwise he’s a lazy idiot.
