I think we will stay away because of his history down here. When asked on NFL network radio what the key was to staying sober his reply was 'to get out of Louisiana'.

I didn't hear that, and if that is indeed was his answer, this is very unfortunate. The only way to face a problem is to own up to your mistakes. That statement says he is expecting others to change for him, or wanting his environment to change. Change begins with the individual, and through their actions, they change their environment. Very sad to see a person with limitless potential throw it all away. It wouldn't be the first time though.

I actually thought he had a great answer. So did the interviewers. He said he hasn't smoked since 10/25 when he was arrested and that he has been to rehab and has a sponsor in Patrick Peterson whom he reports to everyday. He also mentioned that Patrick Peterson's father has played a huge role.

It's unfortunate that he wants to get away from a place that he apparently sees as having bad memories and negative influences?

Would love TM in New Orleans. The guy makes plays. He has a nose for the football. But after his combine, I think he has shot up the draft. I beleive he goes in the 2nd round. It was reported that Eric Davis said 49ers like TM.

You seem like a real philosopher but not much of a realist. The reality is that if you put a 21 year old kid back in the city where all of his pot-smoking friends are AND you give him a signficant disposable income, odds are he'll go back to his old ways at some point.

New city means he knows no one but his teammates and coaches, doesn't have an immediate way to get dope, and then the odds of him changing his ways for good will be much better.

Remember, TM7 performed at a high level while smoking. Plenty of other athletes have done it and know they can do it. It's a lifestyle matter. Best way to change your lifestyle is to start fresh somehwhere new.

If you don't think every single team he goes to wont have even one person who smokes, your cray. Smoking weed is pretty damn common throughout the NFL. They don't test for it hardly at all and these dudes are partying on a regular basis. It's pretty small minded to think NOLA is the only place he could get it.

I dont think the Saints should touch the Honey Badger. He admitted being in New Orleans for the BCSCG led him to more "abusing himself" the week of the game.

If he's back living in New Orleans, he'll be back hanging out with his "Era" boyz and get into trouble. He needs new scenery.

Coming from someone who doesn't know how to follow rules and likes dope way too much, scares me as a Saints fan.

Perhaps, I am a realist too. I have been around drug addicts and recidivists all my life; some have changed, some haven't. What I've learned about those who have changed is they changed themselves. I respect what you said though.

I didn't say that and don't think that at all. In fact, he could end up in a city where it's much easier to get it. Like SF if their reported interest is legit.

But, in NOLA, he can go back to the well. He knows guys who are running it. It would be so easy to revert back. In a new city, he has to ask around and seek it out. Granted, in SF, he could just walk around golden gate park and find it, but that's an OT lounge topic. And even then, looking for it on the street ups the level of risk of an arrest. If the kid can get a highschool buddy to deliver it to his new, swank house in NOLA, he's more likely to do it.

As for his teammates, I acknowledged that plenty of players smoke weed and still play at a high level. Of course there will be some on any team he lands with. But, he'd have to seek out those teammates, and that's a much bigger risk than he (hopefully) would be willing to take. Word gets around the locker room, it will make its way upstairs.

Of course there is no sure fire way to prevent him from getting in trouble again (odds are he will get back into no matter what just a matter of whether he gets caught). But the saints brass would be fools to draft him, unless he really plummets for some reason and the risk-reward equation makes it a no-brainer. But that I don't see that happening.

You're right, no doubt. But, TM7 is much more likely to change himself somewhere other than NOLA.

it would take him a total of 10 seconds to find weed. Everyone has it. Hell, in some states he can buy it straight from a place.

You call other people naive, but I think you should look in the mirror 1st.

minimal investment for possible 1st round talent? I think we would be fools not to draft him. If he doesn't pan out, so what
