Y'all, I just put a little bit of peppermint schnapps in some chocolate milk.

It's really good.
I recommend it.

Hmm, I usually only take my drinking tips from 3HourTour, but I trust you Hoodoo. Your posts make me feel warm and safe.

Landry, Martez had potential, he was just not as good as you think he is. It really reminds me of Cie Grant. That guy hung around forever on potential and played a couple of different positions but was never good enough at any of them to play full time.

back at st aug, Ecuador

this is a true fans thread. Some forget than fan is derived from fanatic. For fans this stuff can be more emotional than with players methinks. Our joy is elevated beyond reality with the good. Likewise our sorrow or anger is often more than what bad is really there. ALL had hope for Wilson even if there is disagreement about his skill level. I want every Saint draft pick to turn into an All Pro.

Just for good measure- LBs picked before MW in 2011-
Jonas Mouton SD- unmitigated total flop, IRed for this yr, may never see the NFL again
Dontay Moch CIN- never impressed and plenty of injuries, cut last year, hanging on with AZ
Nate Irving DEN- still there, 3 starts, 0 sacks

It's not like a #72 pick is expected to be Hall of Famer. Wilson still might be better than Akeem Dent (19 picks later) who is starting for the dirty birds.

Best known for his college coach bullshitting that he ran a 4.18 40

I honestly thought he looked promising when in the game. At least enough to be a situational guy. I'm more surprised than anything.

Ingram. You're not gonna get anything for him, just dead weight.

I saw some of that too. So there was some evidence of skills. I have a theory that as fans we see the highlights- the good plays. What we don't see near as much is the lowlights and the blown plays. We see a guy wide open but might often not really know who blew the coverage. This is the part where the football IQ comes in. In the NFL it might be more important to not blow plays than to make big plays. I'm thinking they just got tired of repeated mistakes. Keeping Dawson who was just picked up a week ago over him is a huge statement.

One more- remember sometimes it just takes a player a while to put it together or to fit into the right situation. de la Puente was on 6 different rosters before becoming the fulltime center here. Lance Moore couldn't stick on the Browns Practice Squad.

This was my point the whole time with the guy. The coaches know way more than we do sitting in front of our laptops being arm chair GMs. But that douche wouldn't listen.

How the hell am I supposed to get a drink if you are moving to Ecuador?

I'm not saying I know more than the coaches, just that I'm surprised because it seemed like he was progressing and yes obviously he must have been making more mistakes than good plays.

never really seemed like Tez found his way.

he was drafted to play outside linebacker in a 4-3. I mean yeah, the Saints had some 3-4 looks when GW was here but primarily that is what he was brought in to be.

I remember reading a lot of the notes on him when the Saints drafted him. A lot of comments on how he wasn't a very polished player, take that fwiw. It was from the Pro Football Weekly Draft Guide.

and then, he just ended up playing a few different positions once he got here.

4-3 OLB
4-3 DE
3-4 OLB

I'm surprised by this, too, but it's not like I heard the guy's name being called out left and right for making tackles. There's a reason why he's not on the field more. He made himself expendable.
