I saw this game posted earlier this week and fortunately blurred it out my memory. Mostly because of so many names not on the team anymore. Watching the highlights pissed me off so bad.
For anyone thinking we'd be overlooking the skins, I doubt Payton and brees have forgotten this beatdown. LINK

Man, that was disgusting. The players just weren't even trying. I noticed it first on the first TD the Redskins scored. There were 3 Saints that could've tried WAYYY harder to make a play before the guy scored. Even if they didn't stop him, the effort would've been there. At least this 2017 team has the heart and effort (and the skills to keep the opponent out of the endzone anyway)

Just watching that..even when the score was tied at 14, it just seemed like the Saints didnt have the firepower to win a game like that on the road. On one play that was a boot pass to Jordan Reed, the entire middle of the field bit HARD on the boot and left Reed wide open...these are the types of mistakes that the 2017 defense is not making. I do believe the increase in talent has MUCH to do with this revamped defense...but I also believe a large portion of it is communication. You see the guys talking more pre-snap...there are very little miscues and breakdowns.

That being said...I think this game is the biggest test so far since week 3. Cousins is no push over QB and may be playing at the highest level of any QB we've faced on this win streak. With the addition of Marcus Williams, Vacarro has been able to play closer to the line and cover big TE's...if he does not play this week it worries me.

I think the Saints win, but it will be the first game in which Brees has to put the team somewhat on his back and lead a game winning drive.
