I don't want to ever hear the narrative that the run defense is only good because the Saints are usually up by a lot ever again. They are legitimately great against the run.

That's about as bad as the offense can play and we were never out of it. So I guess that's a positive.

You give the ball to Brees and the boys with 2:30 to play down by 3 and that's a win 99% of the time. Then, first pass, derp........

Yep. I was actually feeling pretty good about the game at that point, until...

That argument never made sense to begin with.

If we held opponents to like 75 yards a game, but the runners were averaging like 5 yards/run, then you could make that argument.
But our yards/run have been very low all season.

The fricking defense wrecked shop. And that's with them being on the field the entire game. Did y'all see the time of possession at half? I don't know what it ended at but that shite's ridiculous.

This defense is on fricking fire

No more Thursday games, especially on the road.

that didn't bother me this week since both teams had a whole week of practice from their last game

Right but it obviously causes problems for the Saints organization. Maybe this offense is really in touch with their routine and anything that throws that off gets them off their game, big time.

Drew is so routine oriented that I think it's very important that nothing interrupts that.

I keep thinking about that Morstead punt that (no fault of his own) cost of from getting the Cowgirls 1st down from the 1 inch line instead of the 20 because the Saints player was touching the endzone when it occurred

College gets this right. Every other endzone play only the ball matters.

True dat.

I don't know how anybody ever made that argument to begin with considering the Saints opponents rushing average was #1 or #2. That's the stat that tells you what you need to know and isn't affected by the play of the offense or the score of the game.

Cam Jordan is one of the best, if not the best, defensive lineman in the National Football League. He single handedly took the game and gave it to Drew and the offense with a sack/fumble in what seemed like an impossible situation with the Cowboys driving late for what would have been a game clinching score or first down. He made up his mind to make that play, and there was absolutely nothing the tackle could do to stop him.

If the Saints would have had a challenge we could have Challanged Beasley's knee being down. He was down and therefore the Cowboys would have had to punt

I could be forgetting the sequence of events, but I think we eventually got the ball back in that drive with the super human play made by Jordan. The field position probably would have been similar to a Cowboys punt. I guess we would've had more time, but Drew still had plenty of time to at least tie it.

If the Beasley play was an earlier drive, forget my post.
