Let’s look back at the Saints 2019 rookie class.

What a monster class of draftees and UDFAs.
Erik McCoy - Started 16 games at center, gave up one sack and had 8 penalties.
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson - Started 7 games and is a player. Always around the ball and throwing himself into the play. He had an interception, recovered fumble and 49 total tackles.
Saquan Hampton - 6th round pick that was depth at safety and contributed on special teams before an unclosed injury. Good contribution for a 6th round pick.
Alize Mack - Oft injured in the preseason and didn’t make the team.
Kaden Elliss - 244th overall pick who played great in the preaseason at LBer. He made the roster and played in three games before getting injured. Promising prospect.
Ethan Greenidge - Made the 53 man roster, but was mostly a scout team member.
Lil’Jordan Humphrey - Guy who was too slow according to Saints talk. Started on the practice squad, but ended up playing in 5 games because of injuries to WRs.
Emmanuel Butler - Preseason darling who showed some flashes of talent, but ended up on the practice squad.
Carl Granderson - Started the season in jail, but played in 8 games. Had 1 sack and 11 total tackles. Showed some flashes and was a really good depth player.
Deonte Harris - PR/KR/WR who made the pro bowl and was All-Pro. Had 6 receptions for 24 yards and 4 carries for 31 yards. Had 24 KR for 644 Yards and had 36 PRs for 338 yards and 1 TD. Video of TD return against Seattle
Shy Tuttle - Wow, what a find. Was active for all 16 games. Had 18 tackles and two sacks. And who can forget the Interception on Thanksgiving Night!
Who can’t like Shy Tuttle and what he brings to the table. McCoy and CGJ look to be mainstays. I hope CGJ gets some more playing time with Vonn Bell gone. Elliss Showed real promise. He just needs to stay healthy, but should have opportunity since LBer is thin. It’ll be very interesting to see if Humphrey or Butler can step up and make the team as both have some talent.

Anyone looking for any particular player to breakout? I think CGJ did great last year, but I’m looking for him to step up this year.

I'd have to agree with you on CGJ. I think Ellis will make a jump this year also if he can stay healthy.

... and I just might

Deonte Harris Will play a larger role on offense. I expect to see a lot of exciting things from him.

I don’t know if Harris is designed to be used on a regular basis. He’s slight and missed time with injuries last year. Plus, you have Kamara, CGM, Cook, Sanders and Smith to use as primary weapons. I think Harris might end up with a gimmick play every third game or something.
That being said, Payton really likes Harris, so he will probably average three or four touches per game and I’ll look stupid at the end of the year.

I think you are right. I think they will have him in on some Taysum packages to take a shot here and there. I also think they will have Him in on some screens and sweeps. I don’t think it is necessarily bc of injury risk. With the addition of Sanders we just don’t have to get too cute. Would love for us to have a 3rd wide receiver step up for us though.

So we don't see him in a Sproles Role?

With Kamara, that role has been expanded to be the main RB.
I think Harris fits more of that Ted Ginn/Devery Henderson type roll.
