That would be worst case there because it would linger all season. Hopefully it's not that kind of sprain.

Brettesaurus Rex, was he doing sprints in the 3rd AFTER he took himself back out? Personally, if it was a high ankle sprain or something severe knowing Payton, then Lattimore would've went straight to the locker room and we wouldn't had seen him on the sidelines.

Wait, he went back into the game? I was watching him on the sideline in the first half riding the bike and stuff and when the D was on the field. Did he just go in for a series after halftime?

Edit: looks like I missed that coming back from the bathroom

He never went back onto the field after coming out.

I can't remember what exactly he was doing after halftime now, but it was definitely trying to loosen it up after he went out most of the first half. He was on the sideline in the bench area after that. if it was more serious than that I see him back in the locker room. We shall see

He played the first play of the 2nd half.

Yeah he played the first play of the first half and couldn't go full speed on a slant route.

He stayed on the ground for a second while on the sideline and then went to the bench

Yep! That's when they had Ted Ginn Jr. talk to the young baw about shutting it down for today.

Shon wanted to be on that field 100%.

He had to chase the slant all the way across the field to the Saints side line then basicall just stayed there and they told him to stay out

If I had to guess he won't play against the Rams and will give it a go vs Carolina next weekend.

That's how I read Deuce's response.

I guess we'll find out soon enough, but I forwarded this thread and the links to these different articles to someone who knows what they're talking about, and this was their response:

You can only really diagnose a high ankle sprain on mri. There are a few tests that can be fine on the sideline but they aren’t super reliable
