What do Saints fans think of Lamar Jackson?

Would you pay 300M?

Assuming the Ravens don’t make a deal at the end of the season

He may very well be a really good to great QB for the next 6-8 years. At the same time, with his style he very well could be a really good to great QB for the next 2 years then his play drops off a cliff. IMO, it would not be worth it, especially since he wants a fully guaranteed contract.

Also, he would be an absolutely horrible QB in a Carmichael ran system.

Have you read this board? Unless Taysom is the starter we failed. It doesn't matter if drew Brees, Steve young, Joe Montana or John elway signs for the league minimum. If taysom isn't the starter we suck

Obligatory shout out to chadboy and Hellsu lmao

He's good

He won't be available. He will never come anywhere near the open market.

I agree, he’s got everything he needs in Baltimore.

But, he’d look good in a gold helmet !!

If he goes anywhere it’ll be home in Miami

Dolphins would cut bait with Tua in a heartbeat if there was a whiff of Lamar being available

It isn't really about having what he needs. Baltimore would franchise him 3 times before letting him hit the open market.

I've seen nothing to suggest the OC would be able to maximize Jackson's unconventional talents.

and for the record: 102 million. That is the number of available cap space Baltimore currently has MORE than the Saints next singular year in 2023.

After betting so big on himself, there’s little to no chance he would play under a tag.

Since his contract is up, that would create a bidding war in 2024. One Id prefer not to win

It doesn't matter what he would do though. The team has the control over this. If they tag him, he doesn't even give other teams the option to bid on him. Sure, he can sit out, but eventually he will cave.

The Ravens would stand to gain absolutely nothing by allowing him get near the open market. All it would do is raise the cost.
