We are in futility at 7-9 3 years straight, year 2 of a rebuild and the talent improved, but there needs to be some changes.

Honestly, I'm okay with CSP for one more year, but this is a year where he needs to realize that some change is necessary and saying bye t his friends will save his job, his image, and this franchise.

2012-2014: Poor drafting and free agency decisions
- We can go on and on about this, I don't want to relist it all because its a lot.

We went and hired Jeff Ireland as 'college scout' and personnel changes in 2015. People think the "Personnel GM" while Loomis is the "Money GM".
Results were hit and miss, but the misses don't kill us long term like before. Instead of the LENGTHY contracts with HEAVY $$$ we gave Byrd, Lofton, Hawthorne, Bunkley, etc we opted for more reasonable contracts and not big money either. Browner, Spiller, and Laurinaitis were busts but none of them kill us big time or force us to keep them like the 2012-2014 contracts. While we were able to get quality depth and talent at cheap costs with Stupar, Robertson, and Fairley. The one 'big contract' was Fleener, but reality is that he's underwhelmed but reality tells us he's paid market value. 13th highest paid TE, 13th ranked TE.

Key: Nothing affects us long term like the big contracts to average players.

----------

Moving onto the next: Special Teams
- We've said this MANY times, but up and down kicker and blocking to begin the season. It easily costed us the NYG, Denver, and Carolina games and really it could even have been the difference in Oakland. That's the difference between us sitting at home talking about 'next year' and maybe playing spoiler alert.

With McMahon: In 10 games, Will Lutz went 16/22 FGA (72.7%) and 31/32 XPA (97.9%). 3 kicks blocked, 2 returned for points, and numerous 'tipped'.

After signing O'Dea: In 6 games, Lutz has gone 12/12 FGA and 18/18 XPA. 0 Tipped, 0 kicks blocked, 0 returned for points, 0 games costed by special teams.

-----

So reality states the next move should be to improve DL coach and LB coach, if he does this and GM/Special Teams improve constantly like it has been. I don't see why we shouldn't be better next year.

TL;DR, CSP's loyalty to his friends have put us in a bind. Improving them, improves our team. Hope he improves DL/LB coach next.

I think Brees comments show writing on Wall, I doubt he or SP are here next year too many teams need HC now and we will be one of them.

I think so too. He may be here one more year. But after 2017 he's history regardless of what we do next season.
