Just hypothetical thinking.

Let me preface this by saying I am happy with Bridgewater and Hill as potential replacements for Brees when the time comes. This is purely an intellectual exercise.
Watching the LSU game Saturday night and he Saints game yesterday made me think of what sort of magic a Payton-Tua combination could ceate. I would love to know what would happen if those two ever got together.
Back to reality- no way Tua finds his way to the assorts roster but it’s an interesting intellectual exercise to me.

We have no idea what kind of NFL QB Tua is gonna be and this has already been discussed on here several times. We talking 2 years away, that’s a long arse time in the NFL world.

Tua can do a lot with a good OL. Thing is, his team is in a different league than everyone else in the country. He's playing varsity vs junior varsity every week so it's really hard to say how good he'd be with a more level playing field.

Honestly I think that Payton could make something happen with anyone who was even remotely talented. But I definitely agree that "Agile/Smart/Accurate" are key traits for Payton's offense, way more so than just having a big arm or being tall and I think Tua does fit that mould well.
But Tua will (unless something changes) be a 1st overall pick and with the roster we've made, even without Brees I don't see us being up there for a while.

Would rather Bridgewater with 2 or 3 years of learning under Brees honestly.

Call me crazy but I'm still holding out hope for Taysom Hill

Brees May outlast Tua.
He already is banged up playing behind roid line U.

Tua can't complete a 5 yard pass. He's going to struggle in the NFL

All Alabama quarterbacks fold like chairs when they get into the league because they are exposed for not having that massive O-line and skilled receivers like they did in college.

Bridgewater will not be a Saint next year. He is insurance for this year and that is it.
Bridgewater will get offered a nice deal from some club. Maybe Jacksonville and the Saints cannot afford to pay their backup QB over $3 million. Bridgewater is likely to get a huge deal on the open market.
