If you throw him out at the number one corner position right now,
you must not know much about the saints...
He's going to be a corner first. If that doesnt work out, Sharper's deal expires next year and I assume he gets a shot at FS. He will likely be our dime CB, not even that at first...

about time, definitely good news for the saints though

I'm sure there are tons of examples of a player holding out then being a top producer. Yet I can't think of any. In fact I seem to remember that there's a high probability that a player who hold's out will not play in all 16 games due to injuries (not in football shape).
Don't expect much from him.
Can you give us some evidence to support this claim?
ETA: Shawn Merriman had a ten day hold out and played in the Pro Bowl as a rookie. I'm certain that there are others who were productive and not even on the pro bowl level as rookies who held out.

"Any player who misses more than three days of camp is taking a serious risk," said Gil Brandt, long-time personnel director for the Cowboys who now is an analyst with NFL.com. "What rookies see at OTAs and minicamps doesn't compare to what they see at training camp. Everything is accelerated 100 percent.
"Historically, rookie holdouts have a hard time playing well and they often suffer injuries after they show up."
And I would like for Brandt to provide evidence of this. Saying it is one thing, having the data to back it up is something else.

PLus he is a CB, so the learning curve is not as steep as a QB. He'll be fine. He has been in town the whole time so adjusting to the weather shouldn't be that big of a deal.
We still have a month before the season starts. Glad to have him aboard!!

Great news! Now it's time for him to get into camp and earn what he just signed for. I think he's the type to work twice as hard considering he missed so much, that's why the Saints drafted him, he's known for his work ethic. Hopefully he's ready to contribute by the start of the season, and continues to move up the depth chart as the season progresses.

hopefully all of these retarded threads will stop now, and people will stop hating him
I don't understand that. People get so upset with a player when they don't sign/holdout for more money, but 98% of the time they couldn't care less if a team cuts a high contract player that is due big money in the last year or two when they are on the decline. It's strictly business for both sides.

And I wonder if any of these people ever counter offered on a job...
