I would not trade up to get him but I would draft him in the middle of the draft...i think he's better than queen.. hes a tackling machine

Right. I like Phillips a lot, think he’s underrated. We won’t need to trade up though.

Not what we are looking for in our LBs. He’s basically a traditional 2 down MLB who isn’t great in coverage and doesn’t posses elite speed. His personality is also a flag as he’s not an “alpha” type leader like you want from the guy in the middle of your defense. Logan Wilson from Wyoming would be a better fit.

LSU fan or not, Phillips is solid, top ILB coming out of HS, played a ton for LSU and was pretty dang consistent.
combine numbers were pretty good. He may not be a 3 down LB, but do we need that with Davis?
Would feel more comfortable if we can move up in the 4th an grab him there.

His high school ranking means nothing now. And yes it matters if he’s a 3 down LB. Davis can’t do it all by himself. Phillips is not a big enough upgrade over Anzalone or Alonzo to be honest. I would even go further to say that when healthy both are better players than Phillips, Anzalone especially.

Queen is a good player, and he has the higher Ceiling for sure.
But Phillips may have the higher floor.
