It's that thin line that separates all goats from heroes. Always has been, always will be.

Manning is a goat because he threw the pick six, Brees is a hero because the CB's in the Minny game dropped the ball...at least twice.

Breaks of the game I suppose. I'm just glad the majority broke in our favor. It's a game of inches friend.

Finally, Farva was the one who got it right! The real "goat" in the game was His Royal "Do-No-Wrong" Highness Peyton Manning. All the broadcasters for CBS and ESPN developed big lumps in their throats when he threw the pic-6! I think Peyton is really a closet Saints fan.

Actually, with the exception of that play, Baskett had a hell of a game (including stuffing Thomas on the 4th and Goal).

I must say your comment is most disapointing. If our dog pooped in the house I am not going to say 'hey honey your little dog just made a Alejandro in the livingroom.' See. Words hurt. Be more careful please in the future. The Saints winning has put us all in a more positive frame of mind. Don't be a falcon fan.

Exactly. The spin doctors who believe Manning can do no wrong put the blame on Wayne and Baskett. Outrageous.

Manning was the biggest choking goat in this game. The interception, the two very close interceptions prior to that play, and the blown time out call that he tried to wave off are all evidence that he was panicking and mentally shutting down.

You are right, Baskett had to "duck" under a Saint that dove at his head! Watch it close, he was avoiding the block by getting low and still have a chance at the ball, which by the way, was spiralling on it's nose away from him!

Ries almost was THE goat. That was rediculous. It was in his hands while he was still upright and he let it drop for no reason. Thank God he got it, but it should not have been that big of a deal.

The savior was the other Saint diving into baskett on the ground!! Baskett was going to get it for sure when it was on the ground between Ries' legs. The Cassilas (can't remember for sure) dove into Baskett on the ground knocking his silly arse off the recovery for good.

But, everyone should know, there was a Saint whos job it was to knock the shite out of Baskett and Baskett went under him to get his hands on the ball. It ended up bad, but he did well to touch the ball at all, IMHO

I really don't think it was that much of a "surprise".
I would be willing to bet that they knew it was coming.

but just because you know it's coming does not mean you are going to stop it.

Matter of fact it seems like on side kicks work more then half the time.

I highly doubt they knew it was comming, matter of fact I am willing to bet that less than 1% of the vewiers expected that but I bet YOU knew it was right? And no onside kicks fail more than succeed... Go to a baseball board because apparently this isn't your game

Sure Baskett knew it was coming, that is why he started drifting back to set the wedge before the ball was kicked. If he does his job and stays at home until the ball is kicked he recovers it.

Baskett gets the blame cuz it's easy to pin it on someone that doesn't really play
