for about a quarter, like usual.

Hit him on a pass early before he leaves limping again.

Shockey injury report status for the past week leading up to the Super Bowl

Jeremy Shockey (knee) participated in a limited practice for a second straight day Thursday.

Even with the limited participation, Shockey is obviously feeling better this week. Expect him to start in the Super Bowl, though his role in the passing game may be diminished.

Jeremy Shockey (knee) "seemingly worked in every drill" at Wednesday's practice. Shockey's return to practice bodes well for his chances of playing on Sunday. Whether he can be an effective weapon in the passing game remains in question.

Jeremy Shockey (knee, questionable) was held out of practice again Friday.
Shockey likely won't take the field until late next week at the earliest, but he insists he'll play through the pain in the Super Bowl.

Jeremy Shockey (knee) said Thursday that he's prepared to play in pain if that's what it takes to suit up for the Super Bowl.
"There's no holding the reins back," Shockey said. "I'll do everything I can, even it that requires hurting myself, to win the game because you got a lot of time to rehab and things of that nature to get right in the offseason." Shockey missed practice Thursday and will likely rest until at least late next week.

Coach Sean Payton indicated that Jeremy Shockey received good news from his visit to Dr. James Andrews, and there has been no setback with the tight end's knee. Dr. Andrews looked at the MRI results, and the feedback was positive. Battling through a lingering knee bruise, Shockey will likely sit out practice until late next week. If he can't get close to full speed, the Saints may use David Thomas as their primary pass-catching tight end.

Jeremy Shockey mentioned that he traveled to "b'ham" a couple times on his Twitter page Tuesday. We're assuming Shockey was referring to Birmingham, Alabama -- which happens to be where Dr. James Andrews' practice is located. Shockey has been dealing with a knee injury and playing at well below 100 percent. He has an extended break to recover, but the Saints may be better off using David Thomas as their primary pass-catching tight end in the Super Bowl.

I not only want him to catch a TD, but I want him to run over somebody on the way to the endzone and hurt a Colt DB!

I hope he gets about 5-6 receptions on the day!

I say you save Shockey for the 2nd half, personally. I don't want this man hurt in the first half. If I'm Payton I do what I did with him in the Miami game....leave him quiet until crunch time.
