What would he need to do to be HoF worthy?

With only one Super Bowl he's gonna have to wait awhile to get in, but with two, he'd be in within his first 3-4 ballots. More than two.. first ballot.

This is my thought as well. He will get in, but he won't be 1st ballot without 3+.

The only exception to needing 3+ would be if we don't win this year, and Sean is able to win a SB without Brees being on the roster. Right now there are 13 HCs with multiple SB rings, but only 3 have won a SB with more than 1 QB (Gibbs, Seifert & Parcels).

If the Saints win this year, and Sean gets another ring with a different QB; he locks his 1st ballot status. Only 4 HCs with 3 or more rings, Gibbs is the only won in this group that won with more than 1 QB.

Had the Saints ever won anything before he arrived?

He won the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints. Let that sink in if you're over the age of 15. Yes he's HOF worthy.

I think if you travel outside Louisiana you'd find that Sean Peyton is highly respected but not a sure-thing HOFer. Jimmy Johnson and Bill Cowher waited over 15 years before they got the call, and they were more solid locks than Peyton.

It may not be a popular opinion on this board, but I do not think he's in unless he gets another one, but he is young and can absolutely get another one or more. His story is not complete yet.

20 years from now the Saints will be known for 2 people; Brees and Payton. You go to every franchise and name the two most influential people for that franchise, I'd be willing to bet they're both in the Hall of Fame. It will be the same for Brees and Payton
