Because they still never came close to having a winning season

are you saying you know for sure if the Saints did not have Manning that they would have sucked the same or even had better records?

No way in Hell does Horn beat out Dalton Hillard for that 5th spot...no way.

As much as I like Martin, there's no way he beats out Jackson.

Brees is the greatest Saints player and it isn't even close. When you combine what he's done on the field (and he's not finished) along with what he's meant to this community, everyone else is a distant second.

What's your list?

I would put Brees at #1 already and he will continue to seperate himself from everyone else but I could see where people would throw Ricky Jackson and some of the dome patrol in the conversation. Willie Roaf and Morten Andersen have already been mentioned as well. I was too young to see Archie play so it's hard for me make a case for him.

Like I said before, by your rationale, Pete Maravich did nothing for LSU.

But they still named the arena after him.

I guess by your rationale, Big Baby is a better Tiger than Shaquille O'Neal.

EDIT: I didn't say he was better than Brees. But he is a better quarterback than Bobby Hebert and Aaron Brooks. Archie would have won playoff games with that defense and as Jim Mora as coach.

And the top ten is:

Brees
Rickey Jackson
Roaf
Jahri Evans
Mills
Archie
Horn
Deuce
Swilling
Joe Johnson

HM: Hebert, Hilliard, Vaughan Johnson, Aaron Brooks, Jim Wilks, Wayne Martin, Colston, Eric Martin

Danny Abramowicz, Tommy Myers, La'Roi Glover, Reuben Mayes

Current Saints who are almost there: Colston, Pierre Thomas, Bush, Vilma, Will Smith, Tracy Porter, Jammal Brown, and (oh, what the Hell) Sharper

IMO, both Pierre and Reggie are better than Dalton, but great list when the only arguments are over honorable mentions.

You can put Abramowicz and Tommy Myers on my HM list for the "old, old school" players.

And Morten Andersen is a matter of whether you choose to put kickers on the list.

Dalton's 1989 was arguably the best season a Saints RB ever had. Rushing AND receiving.

Give Pierre one more year. Bush is close.
