He won't get that in this market.

As a supporter of Ingram all the way through, 6 really? Love the guy but rather draft if it gets past 4 per year.

If true, it shouldn't be from us.

I'm definitely not saying that.
I'm just saying that would be VERY surprising giving the dearth of RBs on the market and how much the position is devalued. At least at 6 mill. Maybe 4 is expected.

The last few weeks I've seen $4m-$5m.... Not sure how he would get more than that considering how many RBs are free agents at the moment. Have a hard time believing that a team would give him between $5m-$6m a year, which would put him around 7th or 8th highest paid RB in the NFL for 2015.
For a RB who has only played 16games once in his career and has averaged like 600yards and 5 TDs a year with a 4.2ypc, and only has topped 650yards rushing once in 4 years... That's just too much.
Here's a good article about how the flooded market could actually lower Ingrams price. LINK
But who knows though... If he can get between $5m-$6m, good for him. And it's not that big a contract in the grand scheme of things. He's not taking up that much cap space and is only being overpaid by a little. It's not like he would be getting $8m a year.

Not so sure about that.
If you pull up the top FA RB's this year one guy stands out as productive in both pass and run and most different from the others....young.
But as every year its the first few who can set the market.
Thats why I went RB in 2nd round.

If he gets those kind of offers, we simply move on. Can always find a RB in the 4th round or later to do the same thing.

Yep.
I like the guy too, but it would be best for both parties to part ways at that price

What would Y'all think about bringing in Stevan Ridley on a prove-it type deal?

Cowboys might pay that much.

I don't think this means what you think it means.

I think we can draft a guy just as good or better than Ridley. He doesn't do anything exceptionally well and we all know how SP feels about RBs that put the ball on the ground.

wish ingram the best.
something most aren't considering: even if we could afford him, why the frick would he stay here?
