Please start Bridgewater at QB and let him drive up the price...trade him in off season for 1st round pick

yes... Teddy Bridgewater would play most of week 17 if the Saints lock up HFA in week 16

the main reason for that... b/c we NEED both Brees & Hill for the playoffs

Damn right sit them

No reason to get them hurt if we can lock it all up

What price? Our price to keep him? He's an Unrestricted Free Agent at the end of the year.

Edit: I absolutely hope we're starting Teddy in week 17 with HFA locked up, but due to resting starters and not letting him Matt Flynn some team into paying out there arse after seeing 1 game.

I hate the thought of resting them at the risk of coming out flat in the divisional. But I hate the thought of losing someone to injury in Week 17 even more. Rest them if it comes to it. Don’t let Brees, Armstead, Ram, Kamara, Ingram, Thomas, Lattimore, Davis or Jordan anywhere near the field.

Plus, Carolina might have shut down Cam at that point

Ahh yes drive up the price we’d have to pay him as a free agent in the offseason. Excellent idea.

week 17 '09 I believe we started the offensive starters... went down the field and got a TD with ease on the opening drive... then sat the ones we could for the rest of the game

I would imagine something similar if there is concern about coming out flat in the playoffs

The Saints rested their starters against the Panthers in week 17 in 2009 and beat teh frick out of the Cardinals.

Nope. Brunell started and played the whole game. You’re thinking of 2006.

Brunell was terrible too. Couldn't throw further than 10 yards.

Saints vs. Panthers

Brunell was 15/29 for 102 yards and 1 int. He averaged 6.8 yards per completion.

Lynell Hamilton had our lone TD.

Also lost the turnover battle 0-3. Still only lost by 13. That was the surprising part.

Gameday rosters aren't big enough for us to rest all our starters. But surely we'd rest Brees, Thomas, Kamara and probably Cam Jordan

Yeah it's impossible to rest the whole Oline (unless they release some guys that could get poached to carry another 2; not smart). There'll be some rotation. Most of the other offensive starters could be pulled though, and most of the defensive starters (perhaps even all; not sure what the numbers look like currently).

Win the next two and rest your starters for the last week. Same script as 2009

We're not going to sit everyone. If anything it will be like a preseason game where starters play and then start coming out. Brees and Cam Jordan out first.
