He was 9 of 12 with a drop and a throwaway. What exactly is the problem?

5.5 yards per attempt, one completion went for more than 10 yards

8 yards to Ced Wilson
4 yards to Shaheed
28 yards to Welch
5 yards to Shaheed
6 yards to Shaheed
3 yard to Olave
9 wards to Olave
2 yards to Welch
1 yard to Akers

Without the Welch play this would have been a putrid line. Obviously more is at play than just Shough’s performance. But I don’t think his play yesterday did him any favors, especially since Rattler did more with less talent on the field

Olave isn't necessarily always dialed in

Ashame too because he has talent

I think Oline could be a problem at guard.

I don't think it really matters which guy is taking the snaps at quarterback. If you can't really get a run game going or if you can't handle heat up the middle with pass rush, forget about it.

Ireland heads up college scouting, and is a huge proponent of RAS scores. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but they need more balance in their weighting metrics.

Especially when it comes to QB evaluations since there other measurables & variables that are in play in comparison to other positions.

It’s not a game of what if’s.

Neither QB is very great.

My guess is coaches know the difference between the narrative and what actually happened. They also know the level of competition each QB faced.

Yes.

Both QBs were solid yesterday, which was encouraging. But I don’t think you should look at the numbers and just say one did better than the other. That doesn’t tell the story.

Yes.

To me, Shough looks more like a starting NFL QB than Rattler

Huh? Then Mahomes doesn't look like a starting NFL QB, being a scrambler and slinger. Shough looked ok overall. The intentional grounding was...very bad. No sense of getting ball out on the all out blitz. But he had some nice passes, a bad drop or two by Olave not his fault. He looked like a rookie who may well find his footing. But not a starter, not yet. Rattler looked in command of the offense and the field. He looked the starter.

The biggest takeaway yesterday was the o line play. Hard to judge either QB when Ruiz is getting blown up every play.

Yes.

Olave would have caught that ball. Saints will score on that drive. Shough will be QB1.

Yeah, thats why he dropped it and was running his routes lame.
The team doesnt respond as well to Shough and they are trying to stop him from starting, from his greatness, as Deion says.
