Watch Sean (HC/OC) & Zimmer (DC) reunite in Dallas.

I believe they are both 4-3 but correct me if I’m wrong, I believe DA blitzes much more and runs more man coverage. Seems Zimmer is all about stout DTs, where DA is more about DEs and CBs.

first thing he is going to do is hire a an Alpha D coordinator to run a completely different defense.

Is Zimmer an “alpha”? He seems like a good dude but quiet and understated. As for the type of defense I’m sure like most elite coordinators he can run whatever best suits the personnel.

If Allen gets the head coaching job, Ryan Nielsen will be the DC.

This is false, Allen would be the DC and any DC hired would be for title alone. It would be Allens defense. Zimmer is only going somewhere were he is the head defense guy running his scheme.

Yep he will just promote one of his assistants to give them the title and pay raise. Probably Nielsen possibly Richard

You don’t hire a DC that doesn’t match their personnel unless you are in a full rebuild on defense. We made this mistake will Rob Ryan and then again with Spagnola. DCs want to run their defense and a HC usually hires them to do so. You don’t hire a DC that doesn’t run the defense that you ultimately want

He would be a good hire for anyone who gets the HC gig (I'm hoping for someone other than the 8-28 coach; just me).
