i thought the saints reached for a 1-dimensional, "run only" safety a few years back

but the bucs just drafted basically the same player in the top 10

so i'm sorry, board, and i thank you greatly, tampa bay. may this pick help your pass coverage in ways i cannot measure

subtle jabs at the worst pick in the 1st round, which happened to be made by a divisional opponent

Exactly. You draft a run stuffing safety who is extremely suspect against the pass to compete against one of the best passing offenses in the NFL? Atlanta and Carolina will be able to exploit him as well. Terrible terrible pick that I am very happy that the Bucs were stupid enough to make.

I thought the Browns picking Richardson was the worst, considering everything they gave up to move up like, what, one or two spots?

at least we're all pretty certain richardson is going to be a beast of a RB. Baron is a question mark as a complete player

Worse than that brown pic was the 2nd one they made later in the 1st round...28 year old rookie QB Weeden.
Good luck brownies.

Your age is showing. No one remembers the war you waged on Saints Talk in the 06 draft.

I dont think its that bad of a pick. They didnt pull the trugger on him to develop, they expect him to win the starting job this year. I believe he was the 3rd best QB in the draft. If he were 22-23 it would be him in Miami and not Tannehill.

Roman Harper has his limitations, but he's a two time pro bowler and a long time starter that has started 83 games with 406 tackles, 17 sacks, 15 forced fumbles, 4 interceptions and 1 touchdown in 5 years. Not terrible for a mid second round selection.

Yeah, that's a reach. Both from bama. Both going to NFC South teams.

I just don't see him being a guy who can start from day one. And if he takes a year or two to get adjusted he may only have 5 or 6 good years. Not worth a first round pick IMO

This is dumb bro. he's about as solid of a strong safety as there is.

The only thing we need to remember here is the only guy he needs to beat out is Colt McCoy. I think he can pull that off. Honestly I wouldn't have selected him in the 1st either.

with super questionable coverage skills

run-only SSs are a dime a dozen and can be signed literally every offseason for reasonable deals

i'd have to disagree. tannehill was easily the worst pick.
