Has such a similar skill set to Drew and really his biggest weakness is maturity, which he would undoubtedly learn while sitting behind Drew for 2-3 years.

- Won state championship in Texas
- Looked over by big programs because of height
- Walked on to Texas Tech and won the starting role
- Walked on to Oklahoma and won the starting role
- Won the Heisman
- Led the nation in BOTH YPA and Completion %, which is a pretty absurd feat (crazy accurate like Drew)
- Really good athlete, proven winner, etc.

We could have him on a rookie pay scale sitting behind Drew and learning. I think we would be dumb to pass on him.

Haha, I don't read this board much, so I'm sure I'm repeating something.

Apologies.

I wasn't on board completely with it until this Drew deal and the other rumored FA deals we're making. We won't have many holes to address in the draft, so we're setting ourselves up nicely to draft a future QB.

I'd rather sign Graham and draft hard on the defense and win a super bowl next season.

Look, it would be nice. But realistically we would have to trade up, and that just doesn't make any sense. Signing drew and openly pursuing Graham signals that we're going all in for a SB in the next couple of years.

You think so?

I wouldn't trade up either, but if he falls to us, I think its a no brainer.

Lots of teams will be scared of his height and maturity issues.

I'm not saying we should trade up for Baker.

If he is gone, I 100% agree. Go after the best defensive players early and hard.

I see what you're saying but I don't even want him at 27 if he falls. I want the best d lineman or linebacker at 27 and to go after secondary or O line depth in the latter rounds.

No worries. These idiots make threads about players who have nothing at all to do with the Saints and have no potential of ever becoming a Saint, and post it in Saints Talk. You're good. Nice thread. I'm with you on the Baker train!

This is the smartest approach. I know how tempting Baker will be if he falls to 27, and I think he's going to be a really good QB. The timing just isn't right.

We really need to be praying for a Laremy Tunsil type video to come out on Baker.

The only way the Saints can afford luxury rookie-qb-stash, the Saints would have to be extremely pro-active in free agency and solidify a win-now SB run that way.

If the recent rumors of high interest in Graham, Suh, Mathieu, etc are true, they are definitely following the recipe in order to draft Drew's future replacement.

Yep 100 percent agree with you. If we can land big FAs that fill our needs, we have the ability to go all in on a guy we believe in as Drew’s replacement.
