I really think we should pick Star or Richardson if they fall to us over Mingo.

Maybe even Jones as well, but that would be a tough one to pass up. However, would you say that we've been losing in the trenches for a while now? Now I like some of the pieces that we have (Bunkley, Jordan, Hicks, Johnson), but some of these guys are stop gap or unknowns (Smith, Coleman, Walker).

I think we need to win up front for our linebackers to be effective. If we could grab Star or Richardson in the first and pick up a NT (Jenkins maybe) in the 3rd, our D-line would be set for years to come.

So you want to draft a NT in the 1st and 3rd? I feel like one is sufficient.

Both are versatile.

I think Star and Richardson would play NT for any team.
Either would be a fine pick.
Picking up another NT though in Jenkins in the 3rd would seem to be a luxury.

That we can't afford. We have too many holes. Best Defensive player available and I will be happy.

I don't think star is a nose. I think he'd play a lot of end. And yes I would exponentially rather star over Mingo or Jones or any linebacker.

I think Star has the potential to be a superstar in the NFL in a few years. Star has been projected to play NT and DE in a 3-4 also. I'd take him over everyone else, including Mingo, Jordan, and Jones. I don't think Star gets anywhere close to our pick though.

I wouldn't take Richardson over any of those guys.

No way I'd take a NT with our 1st and 3rd though.

I don't think he falls to us either, but has Floyd been projected as a 3-4 player?

I'm down with taking a NT in the 1st or 3rd but not both.

I'm on this train as well. Mingo or Jones are the sexy picks, which a lot of people want for this defense. I'd have no problems if we took Star. However, I dont think he will make it to us.

Richardson is 294. He can most certainly play DE.

This. To clarify my previous post. I'd have no issue with Star. Probably not over Mingo or Jones, but I've been dying for a beast pass rusher on this team for years now.

I wouldn't prefer Richardson (though I wouldn't hate the pick) but I definitely wouldn't use our first two picks on the same position.

Star is rated as a better player than the LB's on most boards. I would jump all over that pick. But any other NT or DE that early and I think we are reaching.

It wouldn't be the same position.

I think Star being available is a no-brainer over anyone else who would potentially be available at 15.

On value Lotulelei could easily be BPA at #15. Would be stoked. He does fit the NT-DE rotation mold like Ngata. Could see him taken over anyone else if available. Less than 5% chance of availability IMO.

Richardson doesn't rate quite as high. I'd rate Mingo or Jones a bit higher than him also. Still he is good enough that it wouldn't be a shocker. Like Lotulelei he's a guy that would rotate inside and out. Comparing, I think he will be the better pass rusher and Lotulelei the stouter run defender. 50/50 chance of being on the board at #15 IMO.

They go B-defensivePA whoever that is.

Ah. I thought Star or Richardson would be playing NT. Or projected to anyway.

Still, IDK. I'd like to wait and see what we have first. One or the other sure, but I'd like to what Hicks can do alongside Jordan before grabbing someone to replace him. I think I'd still rather grab an OLB Rd 1 and a NT in 3. I like the Jenkins or Geathers pick in 3.

Now they will go safety in 1, off tackle in 3

I've been seeing Richardson going between 14-18 in the mock drafts I've seen. Of course you've seen a lot more of them.

You have to think of it as a rotation. They have a very physically demanding job and their big men. They have to come out. Smith is part of the line up right now. I want someone that can replace him.
