So if he returns to Fox for the 2023 season, Saints may get NO compensation from his new team. Unless it runs through the 2024 season.

I agree with you on Peyton, but what about Eli? Also, I always thought that Archie should be a QB coach.

Peyton manning will be 48 or 49 years old by then. I think the saints are aiming for a younger quarterback

Its debatable that Sean Payton is ever a "free agent" again.

The team will certainly argue that his contract is on pause, and based on past precedent, would likely get some form of compensation even past 2024-25 (although it would likely be minor)

Another key factor in this is Tom Brady.

If he does actually retire Fox had already made him an offer of like 375 million.

Payton would almost certainly be one of those on the chopping block to make room for Brady.

May actually benefit Payton, he is getting a bit pudgy. He may need a training camp by himself to lose some weight before coaching

Just say we'll get MUCH LESS in 2024, because he's wrapped up for 2 more years with the Fightin' Gayles.

I was under the assumption that CSP is basically stuck in NFL Season 2022 as far as his Saints contract goes. It doesn’t progress to the next year until he comes back to work for the Saints.
