The stadium was paid for in cash?

So, you can stop assuming they wouldn't be having the success they are having now

I think it's safe to assume he'd have to spend much more effort and resources at marketing and building a fan-base in San Antonio, though.

That's my only point.

Look at the track record of most teams that have moved locales abruptly.

NFL team in a top 10 city with a winning product... I don't think he'd have a problem selling out that 60,000 stadium.

This is where you, and him, are wrong. San Antonio would be a horrible NFL market.

Were you on Benson's relocation committee or something?

Nope but you can call me a Benson apologists if you'd like.... I just think his rep is undeserved most of the time, he's been a wonderful owner for our city and his biggest blunder was trying to move the team but he's still a business owner and thought it was something that made business sense for him but in the end, it's still called leverage to get the best deal he possibly could here as well.

A facilty that brings in over $350 million a year in ticket revenue is worth alot. I this really that hard a concept? The Cowboys own their stadium. The Saints do not. If Benson sold the Saints the Superdome would not be part of the deal. If Jerry Jones sells the Cowboys the stadium would be included in that deal.

Also San Antonio would be a good market its a huge city, top ten in the US for population. But the Saints arent going anywhere.

The cowboys allow the facility to make that money. If you remove the cowboys from the equation... what's the stadium gonna do... host concerts and what?

That figure's probably a little misleading though because the demographics of the area is skewed more towards futbol fans than football fans.

What brings in the money are the suites and seat licenses. collectively the Cowboys and Cowboy stadium are worth more than they would be individually. The Cowboys bring in alot of money because the stadium physically has the suites and amenities and whatever else to do so. They go hand in hand. The Cowboys are worth so much because of their ownership of a great facility, the facility is worth what it is because the Cowboys play there.
