It's because South LA is Louisiana, and North LA is Arkansas.

I'm trying to figure out if that's worse or better than being apart of Texas

Adam, first off I am not a coonass, I am a new orleans Italian. I think being from new orleans you are in fact more of a saints fan than someone from Claiborne Parish no offense in all. I actually like shreveport and thinks its a pretty cool town and in fact cooler than Baton Rouge.

I think its pretty ignorant for those from south louisiana to assume that the majority of saints fans from shreveport are bandwagoners. The owner of the local fox affiliate is a huge cowboys fan and every year the saints fans have bombarded the station with phone calls and petitions to show the saints over the cowboys. If shreveport did not have a strong Saints fanbase why would they do this year in and year out? I grew up in shreveport and know as fact that most of the people there are saints fans, they just didn't have much to cheer for for the longest time, but the ones I knew stood by their team.

To those of you who constantly talk shite about Shreveport, would you prefer it if only people from south Louisiana were allowed to be Saints fans?

I'll bet that you are the same people who bitch when the Saints don't get coverage or respect too. Don't bitch when you don't get these things, when you act like you're the only ones who can be "fans."

I live in Shreveport right now, and I see just as many Saints stickers/flags/shirts as Cowboys stuff on the average resident. And it's been like that since I moved up here 3 yrs ago.

well that is great qwer thanks for the update. like i said i actually like shreveport but I have to say its somewhat of a bandwagon town. BR was like that but its full board saints now. 3 friends of mine are coming down from the Port. I was seeing if any more are making their way down 49.

The fact that it is even half and half is ridiculous

The split has to do with what you're exposed to. I'm 40 and I don't remember seeing a Saints game until I was almost in 7th or 8th grade because we always had the Cowboys on TV and there was no cable/satellite etc. I grew up as a Steelers fan because of Terry Bradshaw and, so, my natural enemy was the Cowboy fan(of course, I always had scoreboard back then).I'm still a Steelers fan and my dream Super Bowl would be Saints playing Steelers with both teams undefeated.

There are those of us in Shreveport who appreciate being from the great state of Louisiana - even if it is the corner of the state. We see the Saints as not just New Orleans' team, but Louisiana's team.

I will readily admit that those of you in NOLA are probably much more emotionally invested than we are up here, but we're still Saints fans and we will still be with ya.

Our state. Our home. FINISH STRONG!

More Saints fans than people think in Shreveport.Had a bad wreck one year and was medivaced to LSUS , I thought I has going to get into it over which game we would watch in our room. Good thing niether could get out of bed. I still say , although thier are a bunch of boy fans in the extreme NW part of the state , Saint fans are still the majority. The Saints made it clear they are a statewide team, why shouldnt they be , the La. patch on the jerseys ,the fact that the entire state put up to build the dome and bring in the Saints. Also (big John McKiethen(sp) is considered the father of the dome, is from Caldwell parish)which is Saints country ,even if it is in the North part of the state. In a nutshell the only boy fans are in the NW part of the state and they still are a minority,
