Derek Carr doesn't put asses in seats. Not only does he not win you games, he is one of the most bland, unexciting players in the league.

Derek Carr doesn't make us that much more competitive than Jameis or Dalton. Is he a slightly better qb than them? Maybe. But he hasn't done enough to really impact the W/L column so far. And his contract isn't doing us any favors either.

Yes, this is great. A feelings check in. Let’s get some therapy threads started.

the number of fans that blindly adore him and put him as the "face of the Who Dat nation

And many of those same fans were were wanting to run him out of town after that Eagles home playoff loss.

Bobby Hebert 23/ 39 291 1 TD 3 INT 1sack(safety) 58.8 QB rating

Saints were winning 20-7 in the middle of the 3rd quarter and 20-10 at the start of 4th quarter. Bobby started throwing up lame ducks for 3 interceptions and getting sacked in the end zone. Eagles scored 26 points in the 4th against the best defense in the league because Bobby failed at QB in the 2nd half.

Thats why Finks and the Saints told Bobby to kick rocks on his contract demands.

So what do you think? You think you just tank one year and the next year you get one high draft pick maybe two and all of a sudden you're a Super bowl contender again? Whether you like it or not it is a business in an entertainment industry, they need asses in the seats in the Superdome it takes money to make money. If they tank asses don't go to the dome That's why they prevent the tank and if they're just competitive enough that money flow in the business stays there which ultimately is the goal. I guarantee you they care more about profits than winning a Super bowl.

Move those goalposts. Funny how some organizations can continue to move forward and rebuild while we keep moving towards a more mom and pop dollar store version of the glory years.

We’re like a formerly famous rock band still living on credit bringing in cover band lead singers to keep it going

if you gave Carr a similar line to what Brees had, we would be talking about him in the MVP conversation. You could put prime Brees behind our current offensive line and we would be calling for a rebuild

The Raiders already did that.

Most of their cap was tied to the Oline for about 5 years, he still was trash.

yall could have just rolled with Winston and used the money on other players.

Carr is subtraction by addition.

It’s the fact that his contract PREVENTS a rebuild by 3-4 years because it’s an albatross around the Saints CAP Space neck.

I hate that I even remotely have to defend Carr but it ain't his contract preventing a rebuild.

That's not Mickeys MO. Anyone that's paid the slightest bit of attention knows Mickey ain't going for a full rebuild regardless if Carrs contract is here or not.
