Hard to believe no one wanted Young.

Starting de that gets pressure. Still a big name. Even if it’s a 5th, take it so we can get the almost 5 million in cap space added to our cap next year. That’s more important than a late round pick or waiting on a comp pick.

I think it was mentioned that we can get a 4th round comp pick if we keep him and don’t resign him.

I think next year is just a year to eat a lot of dead cap space.

Mickey Loomis is a dipshit that won’t trade Young for late round picks. Nobody’s giving up anything more than a 6th rounder for a 2 month rental who doesn’t get a lot of sacks. Chase Young isn’t bad but tends to get a lot of pressures without getting enough sacks.

Well he's only on a 1 year deal so I would say that is pretty likely.

We’d get almost 5 million credit for next year if we had traded him.

We also get a 4th round pick for him leaving in free agency. I guess we decided the 4th round comp pick is worth more than the cap relief. Not to mention 4th is way more than anyone would give us in a trade so it really came down to 5 mill or 4th round pick.

More than likely it was Mickey not wanting to trade him for a 6th or 7th and rather take the chance of him signing a similar contract to this year so we can get higher compensation.
