I've never watched a single episode of any hard knocks. Do they force storylines and script a lot of crap like any other reality show or is a fairly accurate depiction if what's going on?

It's HBO, so it's not like some trashy reality show on VH1.

Last week tonight isn't available until later b/c it is a live show. The other shows can all be preloaded.

I think some of it is a tad forced; but most of it is real. Jets version was a great Hard Knocks. Cromartie couldn't remember the names and ages of his kids when asked on camera, and Rex ended a spirited team meeting by hollering very loudly, "now, let's go get a damn snack!!"
