I must've had a shitty one last year. I signed up 2 weeks before the free ticket promotion started, and all they would do for me is knock off a little on the full price. Wasn't a very good first experience, so I've just been making my changes online.
Can you just ask to be transferred to retention or do you have to make up some sob story about cancelling your service?

Is the upgrade to Max over $100?

When you get to the automated line they will ask for the reason of the call. I always say "cancel service" even if I just want to make changes. Once you get the retentions they don't seem to care that you don't have intentions of cancelling, however if you aren't under contract and you tell them you are going to cable or DISH they will move mountains to get you to sign a new contract.

I am not 100% sure what the full price for Sunday ticket MAX is. I've only ever gotten it through promotions in fact I've never had the MAX. I called last year when I just had the games with no redzone and they said the MAX upgrade was $100 so I think it is $100 over the base price for the games only portion of the ticket.

I'm under contract until April I believe. I wonder if I offer to extend contract a year, they would give me free ticket? I could just call and extend every year.

It's football on your phone.

I would try to get to retentions then just ask for Redzone only, even offer to pay for it. That is what prompted the CSR to look for the promotion so I can tell you teh promotion exists you just have to cross your fingers that you don't talke to an idiot.

My negotiation skills just must not be as good.
I'm going to do this deal anyway. I plan on getting Madden and with working away from home every other week, the mobile and laptop access is better for me. I'll just stream it through my TV browser when I'm home, so it's a great deal for $40.
Thanks to the OP for the heads up!

quote:damn that messed up ....I got it for free last year for the final 5 weeks and forgot to cancel so they have been billing me for it...I wish I could get just redzone but you have to buy the sunday ticket to get it.....oh well it was only 300.00 I think....
I signed up with DTV last year and got the ticket for free. Last month I called and cancelled the ticket then I called today asked for the redzone and they gave the whole thing free. I really was just giving and FYI for those with DTV. You are correct, however it looks like the madden deal could benefit anyone even current DTV subs

I have ordered Sunday ticket the last three years (even though I get all Saints games on my local fox) I told them I only wanted red zone, and they told me I had to have Sunday ticket. I then told them dish offers red zone for $7 a month and I might switch to them
Then they gave me Redzone for free. Funny how things change so quick

Tell em you really just want Redzone and not Sunday ticket and that u are thinking bout switching to dish. When you call say you wanna cancel DTV and someone will ask you why and tell then you don't wanna pay 300 for Sunday ticket when all you want is red zone and dish has just Redzone for $7 a month

Second rep kicks arse. Free RZ & ticket, plus $20 credit per month on my bill for a year. Extended agreement a year from today, and my previous agreement was set to terminate in early April.
First rep definitely tried to cut through the bullshite; second rep is where it's at.
