Not gonna happen... The Rams just signed Cook to a $35m deal last off season.

We'd get their 13th pick and next year probably. The Rams have a lot of money invested in Jared Cook and they like him as far as I know so doubt this is true anyways.

They might just give up the 13 the pick to us this year for graham then give us next year first. If they do that they could trade second pick overall to falcons and still be able to get Watkins. So they would have a legit offense for Bradford also falcons would most likely be stupid enough to give the rams their entire draft this year and a first next year. So I think rams would do it. Jared cook and graham plus Watkins and Austin equals a pretty dawn good offense

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe they're trying to go with the Patriots Gronk-Hernandez plan. We never really got to see how that would playout for a full season, but it's got some incredibly intriguing possibilities.
We can, as Saints fans, admit (NOT DURING CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS) that anyone who has a problem calling Graham a pseudo-WR doesn't watch him play enough. Cook could be their inline TE and Graham their spliout TE. It'd be some incredible matchups that's for sure.
They're not giving up 2 1st rounders, though, you clowns. Best we could do would be their #2 this year plus their first rounder next year year in exchange for Grahama. I'd do it.

Well you have always been pretty dumb, so carry on..

Actually best we could do in a non exclusive franchise is their 13 this year and first next year, there is no way in hell they'd say frick the franchise rules, we'll go ahead and give the saints the number 2 pick and next years first instead of the 13 and next year's first. Looks like you're he one wearing the red nose and hosting the grand prize game.

Doesn't St Louis already have a good tight end?

That's terrifying. All of that plus the best DL in football
This still isn't happening tho.

St. Louis would be retarded to trade both of their first rounders.
I could see a second this year and next year tho but the Saints just dont really hold alot of leverage in trading Jimmy.

second round pick or 2nd 1st rounder? NE-franchise tag is a don't match and the signing team sends us 2 1st rounders.

Reread what he said. He said TRADING Graham. If a team trades for him we can agree to any type of compensation(two 1sts, 1st and a 3rd, two 5ths, money, a coach, some hotdog buns, etc.).
The 2 first rounders only happens if a team tries to SIGN him away, and that is not going to happen. It also has to be that teams original 1st rounder and they come in consecutive years(so even if a team goes full retard, it's still not 2 firsts this year no matter what).
Zero(zip, zilch, nada, zippo, etc.) teams are going to try to sign him away instead of just trading for lesser compensation. I can't recall ONE case where that(player being signed away) has happened in the history of the franchise tag.
That's why it's silly people even mention getting 2 firsts for Graham. It is NOT going to happen.

okay, i didn't read thoroughly
even still, 2 2nds for jimmy? that's highly unlikely if that's the case. No way we let him go for anything less than at least 1 top half 1st rounder.
the NEFT hopefully just accelerates the signing process or gets whatever done and over with so we can focus on the future.

At best it would be their 13th this year and their mid round 1st next year. How many 1st rounders flop?
Posted on 3/2/14 at 11:30 pm to htran90
Understood. And don't feel that was directly pointed at you. I just see two 1sts getting mentioned left and right when the odds are that are practically nil.
I think that without the battle that about to ensue over the WR/TE designation this would be done probably before any camps/OTAs, and definitely before training camp. Still see it getting done before training camp if the designation issue is resolved quickly.

Yeah... but you have $35m on Cook, and then Graham wants $12m a year, so a 4year contract would be $48m. Thats $83m on the books on 2 players who are TEs, And youre going to have to sign Quinn, Long, and Brockers to deals soon. Who knows whats going to happen to Bradford.
The main reason the Gronk and Hernandez situation worked is because they had the QB and coach to successfully run it. Brady and Beli and the Pats are 1 of the few teams that pass the ball inside out. Meaning the 1st read on most plays is a TE or slot that runs a route in the middle of the field. Most teams #1 option is a WR split out wide.
And Hernandez wasnt really TE. Old school HB. Slot, WR, TE, RB, FB, etc. You cant really put Graham or Cook as the RB. The Hernandez / Gronk situation worked out perfectly because they complimented each other really well.
Graham and Cook have similar assets. Big, tall, and fast but neither can play on the line and block. Cook is just as bad or worse than Graham when it comes to blocking. Neither player can play on the line.
And I dont think the Rams are taking Watkins at #2 overall... And he wont be there at 13. I could see them taking Mike Evans at 13 though.
