It's obvious to me that the Saints beat up the Panthers to such an extent that the Panthers were too beat up to compete against the Giants.
The physicality of the Saints just beat the Panthers into a debilitated condition.

Nope. Divisional opponent that usually plays the Saints tough. The Saints are also notorious for playing down to shite teams. Ex. Rams and Tampa last season. The year before: Browns, Arizona, the 7-9 Seahawks in the playoffs. In 09: Tampa

I mostly agree with this sentiment, but it's still a little concerning. That said, I'm convincing myself that the Panthers just handled the short week extremely poorly.

Maybe they gave their all against us because of the anger of last season's game. They played their little hearts out and had nothing left in the tank for Eli. They'll get him next year.
I really hope our defense looks better this week.
