Free Agency

We won’t be major players in free agency but who are some guys that you would like to see us get. Maybe some low budget guys. I was reading an article and Solomon Thomas seems set to be a free agent. We are potentially losing Hendrickson and Rankins. Our coaching staff does a good job of coaching and grooming defensive lineman. I feel like Thomas would be a really good pickup to add depth back to our dline and feel like he has some versatility to play 3 tech or end. He is still young and was highly talented coming out of colllege

If we really are strapped against the cap and can’t sign anyone and Marcus Williams leaves. I’d like to go get Earl Thomas. He was out of football last year so we could probably get him for the vet min. Dude was the best safety in football a short time ago. And safeties usually can last a bit longer in the league as they age. These are the type signings we will have to make to patch a team together for a year.

Solomon hasn't done much.
Malik hooker would be a great option.
I just don't see them letting marcus williams leave. They will just give him a contract with 2 mil in the first year

I like Gerald Everett, TE. Should be a low cost signing that provides depth.

Most of our signings could be stop gap depth guys either cut or coming of injury veterans

I noticed he was a free agent this year too. Would be a good Hill replacement if he didn’t want too much.

That is why I like him. He is a guy who should be cheap and has a ton of talent. Was kind of buried in the depth chart with Niners dline and could maybe perform better in an even front as opposed to odd. We also have very good dline coaching. Could pay off really well and if it doesn’t then we didnt waste a lot.

Solomon struggled with injuries two of five seasons and one season was lost due to personal leave when a sibling committed suicide. He is a good dude however he is the definition of tweener. He isn’t large enough to play DT and is isn’t explosive enough to rush the passer from the edge. At his best and surrounded by great talent around him to take the pressure off he was at most a decent run defending edge and an average pass rush DT.
