Tampa's success has way more to do with the guy that replaced Winston. All they did was get what many believe is the best qb to ever play in the NFL.

I'm about as big a Brees fan as there is, so I'm not saying Winston will ever be drew good, but I found this interesting...

Brees at age 24: 4.2 int% on 356 att
Winston at age 25 (2019): 4.8 int% on on 626 att

QBs do improve

Some of them do, some get worse, some stay the same. No reason to assume Winston is one that will improve

I would think maybe this was part of the improvement too, but who knows?

2019 TB team defense: 15th
2020 TB team defense: 9th

Here's offense rankings...

2019 team offense: 3rd
2020 team offense: 7th

What metric are you using? Points per game?
Jameis put that defense in bad position all year, it was actually a good defense last year too.

Also no reason to assume he won't improve.

I dont see Winston as a superstar qb but he can be good enough for now

There’s much more evidence of guys not improving than improving. I assume he’ll be the guy that he’s always been until proven otherwise

You have too much sense for the knuckle draggers here. Winston gonna throw 40 int’s next year. It’s in his dna.

Do we forget his stats are up there with the best qb's in the league? He had no run game in Tampa Bay which is what a young qb needs.

At least his throws can go pass the 40 yard mark.

I'm willing to give Winston a chance. His head coach for most of his career was Dirk freakin Koetter and offensive coordinator was Todd Monken.

Neither has had any sort of success. Dirk had two winning seasons as a coordinator and one as a head coach. Monken is worse.

Second year with Payton with a year under Brees. We will probably have a more explosive offense, though not as consistent.

Totally agree. Anyone with a football IQ knows this. Neither one of these guys is an NFL QB. I can't believe I see so many downvotes on your point.
