So Tampa has enough of him and gets rid of him and in one year wins the SB. Are we so arrogant to think we can go from Drew to Winston and win a SB?

Unbelievable to think this!
By the way, Taysom is not the answer either.

You realize that all 4 TDs Tampa Scored were by players not even on the team last year and 2/3 were not even on the team for the first month of the season this year.

That’s a good point. Winston may not have been effective in TB, but that could have also been a result of them not being able to develop him and build an offense to suit his strengths. They had to go buy players.

I think Payton is much better at adapting offenses to his players and developing them accordingly. You can see that with his offensive draft picks.

That being said, who knows where Winstons ceiling is and if it’s high enough. Guess we’ll see.

Arians has always been shite with young QBs. It’s no surprise.

His success in Arizona? A seasoned Palmer.

His success in Indy that one year? Was Luck being a once in a generation Talent.

His success in Tampa? Brady.

When he had the one guy that needed developing, he was awful. He can’t do it to save his life. You saw the great possibilities (TDs) and the great potential bad (INTs).

Honesty, Winston was never given a real chance in Tampa because Arians rarely adjusted.

So basically he’s been successful with every QB except Winston but Winston’s failures are all Arians’s fault and none of the other success can be attributed to Arians at all.
The length this board is going to convince themselves that Jameis will be good is insane.

Gronk, Brown, and AB were the dudes that scored their TDs today. None were on the roster last year with Jameis.

Totally apple to apples. And even still, if the barometer is "He's not the GOAT" then we should fold as a team until we get said GOAT. I'm all ears on your strategy, let us hear it.

You have a hard-on for shitting on Winston but haven't offered any reasonable options otherwise

I don’t have to offer other options, I agree that he’s probably going to be the starter next year.

And a lot of people have some optimism

Optimism is fine, I don’t particularly have much of it but I don’t have a problem with optimism. But base your optimism in reality. Don’t come on here everyday and give us a bunch of bullshite reasons as to why none of Jameis’s failures were ever his fault. They were his fault, let’s hope he can correct them but be honest. He was not good in Tampa and it was largely his fault. The blind optimism “those INTs were all Arians fault” is ridiculous bullshite.

No where did I say that it means Winston is perfect and without fault. The fact remains that Arian was very good with 1-year of Andrew Luck followed by two QBs that were very seasoned to say the least.

He has never proven an ability to develop a QB. Hell, Luck had 23 TDs and 18 INTs in that one year. When Arians was interim HC, his stats were 16 TDs and 14 INTs in 12 games.

That's why writing off Winston is the issue. Add in the eye surgery and it may very well be a huge upswing for him.

Hasn’t had many opportunities to prove it. Just because he hasn’t proven it doesn’t mean that he’s bad at it.
