Had a lot of talent at receiver this draft. I really wanted us to double dip at receiver in the 2nd for Sky or Pickens.

Out of the past two years, only one receiver taken in the first cracked the top 10 in 2020, and only two in 2021.

Not saying Olave won’t make the list. But history is not on his side. Of course J Jefferson is one of the three.

I would suspect the difference between Olave and most of those other WRs is he won’t necessarily be expected to, that’s MT’s role. It would be great if he turns into a top 10 WR, but the expectation is MT should be and how many teams have had 2 top 10 WRs in the same year?

Receptions.

If you go by yardage the last two years, only 4 first round receivers cracked the top ten in ‘20 and ‘21 combined. And half of them are from LSU.

So unless you picked an LSU receiver in the first, the odds are definitely not in your favor of getting a top 10 elite receiver.

Not sure what poster was spouting off that you have to draft one in the first to get quality, but they are dead wrong and the stats back it up.

We already have one of those. We just need a guy to catch 60 balls and take some attention away from MT and AK. We obviously want him to eventually become that guy but he isn't expected to come in and be a top 10 WR immediately.

He doesn’t need to be Justin Jefferson, Cooper Kupp or Ja’Marr Chase for this team.

We just need him to be Amari Cooper, Adam Thielen or Tyler Lockett this year.
