This is an NFL contrived response to save the coaches job and prevent the Falcons from losing a draft pick.
Other teams like the Saints would get swift and harsh treatment.

Feel that docking the Falcons of a pick equivalent to Sanders round seems fair.

Absolutely nothing will happen to the falcons. That is goodell’s favorite team. Had this been the saints who did this though, they would lose 2 if st round picks.
