The falcons had one shot and they let it slip. They missed their chance to blow.

People are really calling our defense opportunistic? We’re shutting teams down.

It's gonna take people a while to adjust to the new team.

Even reading the Bucs' board before this game, they were all talking about having to beat Brees, with little mention of the defense.
The reality is, the offense isn't as explosive as it was in the past; and our defense is legitimately good.

Oh dear Heavenly Father please deliver us that Lombardi this year. What a sweet response that would be to the Falcons Super Bowl choke. Amen.

I still think our D will come back to Earth eventually. We're a top 15 unit though and we're a few pieces away from having a top 5 D

Come down to earth? We essentially gave up 3 points today. How many games is it gonna take before this board accepts that this great defense isn't going anywhere?

We're giving up 19.3 pts per game, and that's with the first two loses and the Lions game. Take away those 3 games and it's 10.4 per game in the other 5.

Still an unbeliever of the D huh?. I don't think this D slacks up at all.

Not an unbeliever at all. I think we have a good defense

But I'm being cautious. Let's be honest, we haven't played the best offenses during this stretch. Today was impressive but I'll hold off on calling it a great defense until after these next 3 games.

May I ask why? We are half way through the season and the defense gets more dominant with each passing week.

Because we are only halfway through the season.

And there's no denying we haven't played great offenses during this hellacious run

I’m sorry, but this defense is legit.

I don’t care how good the offenses were facing, after 6 games it’s not a fluke.

I'm not saying it's not

I'm saying let's see how they fare in the next 3 games before we call them elite.

Top 5 "elite" defenses get torched by great offenses all the time. It's the new NFL and the Saints might be one of the very few defenses in the league completely shutting teams down over the past 6 weeks.

They've been as "elite"e as it gets. Barring injury you shouldn't expect them to get worse down the stretch. The offense needs to be better though. Today was a start.

I do agree, but what makes me a believer now is that a usual Saints defense would have made the previous six opponents offenses look like the Greatest show on turf. But when I look around the league right now there really isn't any great offenses. Rams look like the best we will face. Although the Falcons always scare me.

Doesn't sound like it, just a lot of back handed comments like "I'll throw up in my mouth if they win their second title before we win our first." What kind of crap is that?? Lmao

The Saints don't piss in their pants and then have a full all out shite down the pants when playing in a Super bowl and winning like they did before self destructing. The classless fricks may have the better looking city with a thriving economy, but you have a lot of classless people that live there that deserve everything they get.
