They are both 175 RBs... Trindon Holiday is a FA and we have not visited with him...Archer and Thomas can't handle the beating the NFL will give them.

I like Archer. Once he gets in an nfl weight room he will probably gain 5 to 10 lbs of muscle . Even if DAT gains 10 lbs he will still be pretty lean. I'd rather the more compact guy than the super slim guy. In that type of role.

This is the first post on these two that isn't a regurgitation of some "expert's" opinion.

Is Archer sticking at RB? I hear De'Anthony wants to move to WR in the NFL

I mocked Devonta Freeman in the 5th Rd

There's quite a few good draftable players for this role. I like Thomas but think he gets drafted a little too high.

Freeman reminds me of Sproles in his build, toughness, and how low he runs. Not as quick/jitterbuggish but fast.

Watch some highlights HERE

In general. I'd rather a sturdier guy taking hits than a rail thin guy. Same was true long before Sproles and will always be the case.

DAT really improved on his 40 at his pro day. Everyone bailed on him after the combine because of his slow 40.. then he was stupid fast at his pro day (4.33 and 4.37).

Freeman would probably be my answer here as I think he'll be a good player in the NFL as well as better value in the later rounds.

Serious question, how many here have seen Archer and Thomas in action at any length?

I don't know much about Archer at all besides that insane 40 time. I've seen Thomas plenty of times which is probably a reason I lean more towards him. He's not really going to run the ball at all, he's more of a slot/get the ball in space/return guy. And he was pretty damn outstanding in that role. I'm pretty sure at one point he was scoring a TD somewhere around every 8 touches. I mean that's pretty insane. His size is somewhat of a concern, but man I would love to have his return ability. We haven't had anything like that since probably Reggie.

I have seen every Duck game.

You're right DAT wouldn't be running much. Thank goodness because against NFL linebackers he'd be a turnover machine.

I can't stress that enough. I feel like a broken record. Partly because this thread has been beaten to death. Facts are facts though. DAT can't be trusted against much superior players compared to those who ripped the ball out of his hands. I was a fan but am also realistic. I don't want to waste a pick on him.
