243 today bumps the total to 682 for the year(along with 5 TD, 0 INT and a 123 rating)

Sitting at 71,127, 813 behind Peyton Manning.

Needs to average 271 over the next 3 games and he’ll break the record on MNF against the Redskins.

You people are ridiculous. Lost no Tampa, lucked out (should have lost other than Browns have the worst kicker in modern football history) to Cleveland and you are talking about when Brees breaks a record?
Who cares?
Records are for losers.
Payton Manning holds tons of records and what did that do for their team in the Super Bowl against the Saints?

Jackass

It’s not just some record. It’s THE all time passing yardage record. A sort of life time achievement.

Gee I don’t know maybe we’re Saints fans?
I kind of like the idea of having one of the GOAT and record holder on my team, but maybe it’s just me...

He’s already the most accurate passer in NFL history.
He should break most passing yards in the next few games.
He can break most TD passes over the next couple years.

If you can’t get excited that the best Saints player to ever wear the jersey is breaking these HUGE career records, why are you a fan? Or are you not and just want to complain? I love to see my QB get these and get the respect he deserves as one of the best to ever play the position.

I understand the dumbarse point that this guy is trying to make, but the fact of the matter is that we will probably only be able to enjoy Brees for another 2-3 years.

When everything is said and done and the calendar is turned only one team will win it all.

Individual records matter and being their in person matters.

Bad post. I get your oringinal point that the saints are 1-1 and very easily could be 0-2. They still look bad in many respects of the game. But Peyton Manning is the antithesis of a loser. Two SB wins and is regarded by some (most?) as the greatest.

And the records he is chasing will legitimize Brees’ legacy as one of the greats as well. At this point because Payton can’t seem to put a decent defense together for consecutive years, it’s the only thing Brees has control over and so why the hell not?
