We know the typical type of guys available late 1st

You rather Interior OL, Athletic LB, WR, QB?

Need a replacement for Peat and back-up for Armstead, so I’d go OL.

And we’ve had good luck with with 2nd & 3rd round WRs.

This sums it up nicely.

Whatever value is better on OL and WR. We’re pretty good at finding both.

Also this obviously depends on Brees hanging around.

the way drafts go i would feel better if they went get proven O line talent and gave up draft picks or go after FA

gambling on the draft is nice but most of our core improvements came from all the veterans we brought in rather then the specialty players in the draft we got lucky with

As a typically rule I see the draft like this for starters.

Picks 1-10--QB, DE, DT and LT
Picks 11-20---MLB, CB and rare occasions S and WR
Picks 21-32---RT or G

I also feel good taking a #2 receiver in the 2nd round, a back up or replacement player that may be one year away from being a starter.

that's cool but as of now, we don't possess such pick. McCoy trade.

In general at I 100% agree. But we need to start thinking about someone to replace Drew Brees. If the Saints can reasonably move up and pick up Joe burrow in the middle of the first round oh, it would be a smart move considering he is already working within the same system
