Does some team maybe even a 8-9 or 9-8 team pull the trigger because Sean is out there?
Thinking of the Chargers specifically, but could apply to others.

if you arent happy with the direction of your team and think you need a different coach then yes you do whatever it takes to get payton, quietly, behind the scenes, just in case it doesnt work out.
what you dont do is publicly announce your intentions like the saint did going after watson and announce CGJ was part of the deal, without even telling CGJ first before making that announcement, thus pissing of CGJ to the point he wasnt going to play for us any more

i can see payton looking at denver and being happy going there, the only issue is what do they have to offer in trade to get him? if he goes to broncos we dont get shite for payton but a few consolation prize level picks

I saw ceedy deuce sending out cryptic tweets before he was ever reported to be apart of the trade. I think we did tell him quietly then it leaked.

We need draft picks for Sean which Denver has none to spare. I still think he lands in Houston and is given a chance to draft who he wants with all their picks (2 1sts so they can trade 1). The narrative that some playoff contender is going to fire their HC just to get him is stupid

Maybe Sean sees the spots he wants aren't gonna open, so he's wanting to finish his contract in Nola witg brees. He knows our ownership is willing to kick the van down the road to make a run those 2 years. Let contract run out, and go where he wants
