Directv & Fox 8 New Orleans

Just a heads up for anyone in the New Orleans metro with Directv.
As of today, we currently don't have Fox. I called and they gave me Sunday Ticket for free plus 3 months of no bill, but unfortunately I will still have to watch the game somewhere other than my home.

Dispute with parent company Raycom. Raycom wants more money for rebroadcast rights. I have the same problem here in Shreveport with KSLA.

You have to try harder and don't accept their first offer.
The first offer was Starz for one year and I told them how in the hell is that supposed to solve my problem. Then they offered Sunday Ticket. I said that's great, but local games are blacked out. I told them now I have to go out and buy an expensive HD antenna. That's when they offered one month for free. I told them that wouldn't cover the antenna I have to buy. They offered 3 months no bill and I told them I will take it as long as the Starz and Sunday ticket is included.
TLDNR: don't accept first offer, they will bend over to keep your business.

Still getting tired of Directv's bullshite. The only reason I keep them is because of my camp. I can bring mu box and tv back and forth.

This is happening with local channels all over the place across multiple providers. I'm wondering if the parent companies are putting too much faith in the public's desire (or lack thereof) for local channels.

it's a battle between DTV & Raycom... so BR lost its CBS affiliate (WAFB)... and I believe Alexandria, Lake Charles and Shreveport all lost a local station as well in this
I knew when I moved back I should've stuck by my guns and got Cox Cable instead of DTV

Yes, we lost KPLC. Thankfully, games air on Fox. On hold for cancellation department now though. Spoke with them earlier this week and they made a couple offers that I'm calling back to approve and see if they can do anything else.

Fyi Sunday Ticket is still subject to blackout. If they dont resolve then u still will need an antenna to get the Saints game.

I agree. I called a few weeks ago complaining about the Redzone channel. They quickly gave it to me upon threat of termination. The Sunday ticket isnt really that appealing to me but i watch the crap out of the Redzone channel.

I'm still getting WAFB in Watson (which is BR) even though I have a channel 9-1 right under channel 9 that shows the Raycom disclaimer.

Redzone is only thing I wanted so its what I asked for. Hell thry coukd have given me the full ticket if I asked
