I have to keep reminding myself that this was the very beginning of the Brees/Payton area and nobody in that building has any idea how good things will eventually get.

Like a time warp. Watching this is bringing back so many memories. I'm loving it.

Not gonna lie. Seeing the dome under water and some of the pics form Katrina brought back a lot of memories. When Gleason blocked that kick that exact same joy came back. It was even better because my sons were watching and when it happened the first time, the oldest was 1.

Back in 2006 a lot of us didn’t have homes to go back to but for 3 hours we all had the Saints. And to beat the Falcons on top of that was an awesome feeling

This was it for me. I’m sure teenagers were watching that and thinking this was the only superdome and saints performance they’ve ever known.

But we had no idea at the time what we were watching or what to expect. We were just looking for the escape and hoping. Just happy to even have the team back.

I showed my kids a YouTube vid of the pregame concert before we started the game broadcast. Really didn’t expect to get choked up like I did.
